The People of Praise is a charismatic Christian community whose members, after an extended period of discernment, make a serious agreement or covenant to one another. Members of this ecumenical covenant community lead a life which is, to a great extent, in common. They are open to and exercise the gifts of the Holy Spirit in a joyous expression of praise and worship.
We enjoy participation in men's and women's groups designed to share both the joys and inevitable burdens of living as christians in the world. These groups meet weekly and help us build close relationships while supporting one another in prayer and shared praise.
All of us, adults and children, gather once a week, usually on Sundays, to give God glory and to further share our lives together. Praise and worship in both song and prayer is an important component of our pattern of life in the People of Praise.
The northern Virginia (NoVA) branch of the People of Praise is part of an international organization with branches located throughout the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean.
The People of Praise is not a church. Our members are encouraged to participate fully in their own churches, taking full advantage of the sacramental life they celebrate.
